Advice 2: Types of wood
Choose the pine wood if you want to maximise the thermal parameters of your window. These are the result of the relatively low density of this material, about 510kg/m3. Pine wood is lasting, durable and provides a good thermal insulation. Large amount of sap makes it resistant to high humidity.
Choose the meranti wood if you are looking for a combination of good thermal and acoustic parameters with interesting design. Window made of exotic meranti with its density of 630 kg/m3 are longer lasting and more durable than the pine ones. Its warm shade provide interiors with an elegant atmosphere.
Choose oak wood if you are looking for the most noble type of wood, the most long lasting and durable. Oak wood with its 710 kg/m3 of density is characterised by good sound insulation. An interesting colour and ring arrangement make these windows aesthetically pleasing and always regarded as prestigious.
Window of the same model and the same profile width, but made from different types of wood will have different Uw values.
